Charaan Suresh Kumar is a final-year Electronics and Communications Engineering student at the MIT Campus of Anna University. He is a self-made person with a keen interest in the technological advancements in the field of Hardware Accelerators, Digital VLSI, Deep Learning, CMOS IC Design, and Embedded Systems. Charaan is a DAAD WISE '22 Scholar at the Technical University of Munich, currently working as a Summer Research Intern. During his internship, Charaan investigated the usage of Microchip PolarFire SoC for a small satellite-based camera payload system. He configured the RISC-V E51 Monitor Core and U54 Application Cores of PolarFire SoC, tested the open-source framework Renode for processor emulation and program debugging, and developed an SPI Communication Interface for a camera payload using VHDL. Charaan also performed an analysis for implementing a pipelined datapath in the PolarFire SoC for real-time image processing of camera data. Charaan has previously worked as Vice Chairman and Joint Secretary of Quiz Club MIT. He is a hardware open-source enthusiast and has relevant experience of 0.85 years as a Research Scientist in Image Processing and Deep Learning. Charaan is actively looking for prospects and opportunities to work in semiconductor industries and research organizations.
